One skein of high quality, British double-knit Blue-faced Leicester wool, weighing about 100 grams (3.5 oz) and measuring about 240 metres in total, already mordanted and ready for you to dye.
Each 100g hank it is scoured and then mordanted with 8 grams of alum and 7 grams of cream of tartar. Please rinse the yarn gently before dyeing to remove any loose alum.
Ideal for dyers who are short of time to do their own mordanting, and for beginners who may find mordanting a bit daunting!
This is a very soft, cream-coloured wool with a high sheen, from pedigree British Blue-faced Leicester sheep. It is spun in the UK and perfect for your double-knitting and dyeing projects. We recommend that you use 4 – 5 mm UK size needles and hand wash the wool.
