The cochineal bugs are produced in villages in Peru and Ecuador and then the dye extracted in Europe. The cochineal extract is weighed and packed in a polythene grip-seal bag. The bag is then labelled and put in a second grip seal bag for extra protection. I then place the cochineal extract in a small padded envelope and post it to you First Class. I hope you enjoy achieving beautiful pinks and reds with a dye used for hundreds of years.
